    Texas Center for the Missing, Houston Police Department Forensic Artists, and Sabine Street Studios, present Never Forgotten, a powerful new exhibit featuring age-progression artwork of missing persons. This initiative is a heartfelt effort to shine a light on each case and continue raising awareness in our community in an effort to #BringThemHome. The exhibit features the work of three local forensic artists: Thurston Johnson, Bryan Bradley, and Kristen Aloysius, who are all dedicated to reuniting families through their artistic endeavors. May 21st, 6 - 8 pm | Reception for the artists and the public.

    Houston artist Erika Alonso presents a powerful solo exhibition in the Bay 100 Gallery at the Silos at Sawyer Yards. Alonso's large watercolor compositions are abstract, but have palpable depth that draws you in. The layering and the wide variety of dynamic marks accumulate to just the right point of tension, conjuring narrative landscapes—spacious, imagined terrains animated by lyrical lines, repetition, and ritual. Visitors are invited to take a moment to reflect upon these landscapes and whatever creatures and stories they find waiting there. Join Alonso in Bay 100 Gallery on June 5, from 6-9 pm, for a public reception.

    Artist Rebecca Pugh presents a solo exhibition of abstract paintings, "To the Horizon", in the North Gallery at Sabine Street Studios, Pugh is inspired by colors, shapes, and repetitive lines and forms that she sees in the landscape on her regular long-distance commute between Houston and College Station. The exhibition is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and is on view May 21st – July 25th, 2026, with an opening reception on May 21st from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

    Nevine Mahmoud unearths uncanny worlds from stone: jumbo-sized fruits drip with glass, a contorted marble faun arcs like an acrobat, and children's toys are immortalized in white alabaster.     Vian Sora (b. 1976, Baghdad) creates dazzling, layered abstractions that channel the turbulence of life, ancient Mesopotamian history, and Iraq's diverse natural landscapes. For Sora, the multilayered effects of her paintings give a concrete form to the chaos of life. Alex Bacon writes, "Over…the 1950s, numerous artists working in different parts of the world arrived…at ways of activating perception. This global aesthetic orientation paralleled a period of unprecedented research into optics and the physiognomy of vision, accompanied by popular interest fed by the media. Carlos Cruz-Diez and Julian Stanczak are two such artists, Cruz-Diez based in Caracas and Paris, and Stanczak in the United States.     Jasmine Rossi: Sublime features large-scale prints of landscapes from Patagonia, China, and East Texas that enthrall the viewer with painterly elegance and stark realism, drawing a thin line between mysticism and science, beauty and sublimity, contemplation and danger. Jasmine Rossi was born in Switzerland to an Italian father and a German mother. She now resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from where she travels to her favorite "canvas": the vast ice fields of southern Patagonia. Rossi has undertaken long and perilous expeditions to the Arctic Circle in Greenland, Antarctica, the Namib Desert in Africa, and the Atacama Desert in Chile. 713-529-1313
