Lisa Cain "The Storyteller" Opening Reception

Redbud Arts Center presents The Storyteller, an exhibition of paintings by Lisa Cain, Ph.D., a self-taught artist whose work is rooted in memory and lived experience. Drawing from her upbringing in Canton, Mississippi, Lisa creates vividly colored acrylic and mixed media works that depict everyday life in the rural South. Her simple yet expressive figures honor community, tradition, labor, and spirituality, often paying tribute to voices now silent. Influenced deeply by her parents, community, and grandmother, Lisa’s work preserves personal and collective histories.
