Laura Drey Opening Reception "Navigational Points", September 7, 6-9pm

Redbud Arts Center is excited to announce our upcoming exhibition "Navigational Points," featuring the works of artist Laura Drey. Laura, a Houston-based artist, draws on her Mexican-American heritage and family history. Her work in drawing, painting, and textiles explores identity, race, and class, using materials like thread and burlap to craft deeply personal, narrative-rich art. Influenced by her family's background as migrant farmers and longshoremen, Laura incorporates domestic and commercial materials like thread, burlap, and twist ties to create layered, narrative-rich artworks. Her expression is deeply personal, rooted in themes of home, belonging, and intergenerational storytelling.
