Public Service Events

Annual "Field Day" exercise puts amateur radio's disaster-response capability on public display; community welcome to attend at no charge. Visitors can watch operators on the air making contacts with other Field Day stations across North America; see antennas, generators, and solar arrays being deployed; try an on-the-air contact themselves under the supervision of a licensed operator (a "GOTA" — Get On The Air — station); and talk with TEAC members about how to get licensed. Local elected officials, emergency-management staff, and the news media have been invited to attend. 832-725-8610
