Film Screening and Director Talk: 'On Healing Land, Birds Perch'

'On Healing Land, Birds Perch' tells the story of that photograph through the lens of four people whose lives were forever changed by its aftermath. These four voices share their different perspectives of the event and in doing so create space to understand the complexity of war, trauma, survival, and ultimately healing. Following the film, Naja Phạm Lockwood will be joined by TakeRoot President Judy Le for a discussion on the making of the film and the importance of confronting trauma through storytelling. This documentary contains images of war which may be unsuitable for some audiences.
