Join HCCC and current resident artist Hai-Wen Lin for an in-depth workshop on the cyanotype process, an early form of photography that uses basic chemistry, light, and time to produce brilliant blue images.
Explore Hai-Wen’s practice of creating experimental cyanotypes that are later integrated into sculptural works. During the workshop, create a light-sensitive emulsion that reacts to a UV light source, and learn unique printing techniques (for example, photogram printing, where objects are placed directly on top of the light-sensitive emulsion, and traditional negative printing, which uses photographic negatives to create a positive cyanotype print).
