Houston Center for Photography, in partnership with the Houston History Research Center, presents Wrapped in Memory: An Artist Talk with Job García. Moderated by Areli Navarro Magallón, the program will explore García’s forthcoming photobook, ¡Qué Vivan las Cobijas, Cabrones! Family Artifacts and the Maintenance of Mexican Identity, and his portrait series centered on the iconic Mexican cobija as both photographic backdrop and cultural archive. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a pop-up portrait session with García using the cobija backdrop from the series. Free and open to the public; registration is encouraged but not required.
