Rothko Chapel: 2026 Summer Solstice Observance with Atlas Maior

Join us at the Rothko Chapel for a day of reflection, renewal, and cross-cultural music honoring the longest day of the year through contemplative experiences. Atlas Maior is an Austin-based ensemble blending Progressive Jazz with Middle Eastern, Latin American, and Indian traditions. Led by Joshua Thomson and Josh Peters, the group creates a dynamic sound shaped by expressive melodies, intricate rhythms, and global influences. Their acclaimed album RIPTIDE was named one of The Austin Chronicle’s Top 100 Releases of 2019. Atlas Maior has toured internationally and have served as Creative Ambassadors for the City of Austin.
