Night of Ideas

Night of Ideas returns to Houston for an afternoon and evening of reflection and conversation on the legacies of the Enlightenment and their relevance today. As democracy faces new challenges and society confronts crises from climate change to unregulated generative AI, the event asks how we can foster critical thinking, empower young voices, and inspire collective action. What can we learn from the Enlightenment, and how can it help us imagine new futures? Organized in partnership with the Humanities Research Center at Rice University, this program invites the public to engage with ideas shaping our world.
