In Praise of Virtue

GRAMMY-nominated Baroque music ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston presents their season opener on Friday, September 20 in Zilkha Hall of the The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts with two singers and orchestra performing on historically accurate instruments. "In Praise of Virtue" spotlights soprano Hannah DePriest and countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen on two rarely heard solo cantatas by Bach and Handel. They join together to perform excerpts from Hasse’s Marc-Antonio e Cleopatra – arias and duets rich with luscious melodies and spectacular virtuosity.
