Ebru (Turkish Paper-Marbling) Workshop

Discover the beauty and craft of the Turkish art of ebru paper-marbling with local ebru and watercolor artist Shaheen Rahman! Known for its exquisite and traditional patterns painted on the surface of water with specialized tools and transferred to paper, ebru’s origins date back over 500 years to Silk Road production of this art. Participants will learn the basic concepts, patterns, and techniques involved in this historic Islamic art form to create their own ebru patterns and designs, and will leave with several completed pieces of ebru art.
